Beauty sleep is essential to good skin, but falling to sleep is always the tricky part.
So here is a few tips and tricks that I have tried.
- Start by winding down a couple hours before you actual bedtime. Don't watch your television shows, instead read a book.
- Leave all your must do's for the next day, before going to sleep write out your to do list. So its not nagging you before you rest.
- Dim your lights and find a comfortable position and avoid all stimulation such as violent t.v. shows, caffeine, alcohol and upsetting discussions.
- Tune out all sounds, wear ear plugs and listen to your breathing.
- Take a warm bath before you sleep, relax to some soothing music during your bath. Add a few drops chamomile , it usually clam the body and so does lavender.
- Stop thinking about your worries before you sleep, instead say and repeat a mantra like "tomorrow will be a better day", "the more sleep I get the better my day will go".
- Sometime we worry about how much sleep we get instead try to stay up, so your body naturally go to sleep.
- Listen to nature sounds like birds, rain, rivers flowing or the ocean waves clashing. I downloaded an ipod app that contains all those sounds.
- Counting backwards from one hundred.
- And my favorite investing in a blindfold, when you have one on your face it eases you into sleep
